In the Fall issue of CAA Magazine, we featured a letter from a Member named Wayne G. Wayne shared pictures of his vintage truck, complete with an antique CAA grill badge.

Wayne found the grill badge through an antique dealer named Greg Brain, who has a store in Glen Williams, Ont., at the mill on Main Street. Brain is an avid collector of vintage auto memorabilia, and this piece was from his personal collection. In 2019, the dealer showed Wayne the badge he had in his collection and agreed to part with it. Ever since, it has adorned the grill of Wayne’s truck.

“It must bring positive energy because the truck has never had to be rescued by CAA,” Wayne said.

“I appreciate the long history of CAA and use the coverage for both of my vintage vehicles. CAA has rescued my old car a couple of times and handled it with extreme care and professionalism. I drive with confidence knowing that I will never be left behind at the side of the road. I continue to look for a different vintage badge for the old car. Just haven’t found the right one yet, but I will!”

Wayne’s letter got us thinking: as an organization founded in 1913, we’ve produced a lot of memorabilia, from CAA School Safety Patrol pins to toy tow trucks.
